From 1 January 2020 the Fondo per l’Audiovisivo (established under art. 10 of Regional Law n.20/2014) is accepting submission requests for the grants previously announced by Regione Emilia-Romagna.

Distribution of the €1.2 million budget as grants to domestic and international businesses is divided into two sessions: the first, with a deadline of 28 February, will distribute €700,000, and the second, open from 1-31 July, the remaining €500,000.

A fund of €600,000 aimed at businesses based in Emilia-Romagna has the same deadlines. The grants will cover between 35% to 50% of eligible expenses, for a maximum of €150,000 for film and television, €50,000 for documentaries and €25,000 for web and short films (this category only available for businesses based in the region).

A separate call for applications aimed at businesses based in Emilia-Romagna focuses on development. It has a €120,000 budget and offers a maximum contribution of €15,000 to cover 70% of the cost of original screenplays and development of an audiovisual work. Submissions can be made from 1-31 January 2020.

From 1 -31 January 2020, furthermore, the Regione will accept projects for festivals and cinema screenings for 2020. There is €640,000 available, of which €500,000 is earmarked for festivals and €140,000 for the screenings. The grant will provide a contribution to cover the project’s deficit financing, at minimum €8,000 for festivals, €5,000 for screenings, for a maximum of 50% of eligible costs.
