Selective contributions, which are governed by the Decree issued by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities on 31 July 2017, comprising ‘Implementing provisions for the selective contributions indicated in article 26 of Law no. 220 of 14 November 2016’, are granted by the DGCA of the Ministry of Culture  for the writing, development, production and national distribution of Italian film and audiovisual works.

The requests for contributions for national distribution is reserved for summer cinema distribution projects in Italy and can be presented in the three sessions indicated:

  • from 20 June to 30 June;
  • from 15 July to 25 July;
  • from 26 August to 13 September.

The funding available of €4,500,000 is divided between the three sessions into €1,500,000 for each, of which:

  • one-third (€500,000 per session) earmarked primarily for films that received production subsidies (DM selective contributions July 31, 2017);
