Description

With this call, the Region of Tuscany intends to facilitate the implementation of projects in the territory, supporting investment in audiovisual productions.

The overall budget for the call is €4M, allocated as follows:

  • short films, 20 minutes or less in length: €300K;
  • documentaries over 20 minutes in length: €800K;
  • fictional feature-length films, 52 minutes or more in length, intended for theatrical and/or television release (including VoD and SVoD): €2.2M;
  • series, of 90 minutes or more in total, intended for theatrical and/or television release (including VoD and SVoD): €700K.

Maximum contribution

  • €20K for short films;
  • €50K for documentaries;
  • €250K for feature-length films;
  • €200K for series.

50% (60% for co-productions between several Member States; 80% for “difficult” works; 100% for co-productions with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) countries)

Requirements

  • Minimum net assets: 40,000
  • Minimum spend in the territory:
    • 100% for short films and documentaries
    • 150% for feature-length films and series
  • The financing requested must refer to work located in the region of Tuscany;
  • the work must start after the date of submission of the application
  • the project must be concluded within 18 months from the date of the grant legislation;
  • The applicants must:
    • have registered offices in Italy or EU Member State or non-EU, with operational headquarters in Tuscany, or declare their commitment to opening an operational unit in Tuscany if they benefit from the grant;
    • be classifiable as independent producers;
    • be sole producers or co-producers of the work or have a signed executive production contract with the production company for the work;
    • for international co-productions, international participation or international productions, the Italian production companies must hold a share of the rights to the work of no less than 20%; 10% if companies from more than two countries are involved;
    • have acquired, by contract or purchase option, the creative processing rights to the screenplay, the subject, the treatment or other artistic material for the creation of the work.

Payment schedule

Disbursement of the grant, following a successful application, is as follows:

  • Advance payment (optional): within 90 days of the granting of the subsidy (40%)
  • First reporting period (optional): within 270 days of the granting of the subsidy, with reporting from 40% to 70% (variable percentage)
  • Final reporting: within 20 months with reporting from 90% to 100% (100%)
