Suvereto, is a medieval village set in the green Val di Cornia valley, the origins of which date back to before the year 1000. Today, it is the home of important wineries. The old town centre features a pentagon-shaped city wall with eight defensive towers and the Rocca Aldobrandesca, formerly a fortress defending the castle. Among the historic buildings of interest: Palazzo Comunale (municipal building) dating back to the 11th century, the Church of San Giusto and the Church of Madonna di Sopra la Porta.
