Palazzo Mazzola is located in via Cardinal Massaia, Asti. Property of the Mazzola family since 1516, the palace later became the seat for the Opera Pia Buon Pastore. Today it houses the Archivio storico del Comune di Asti, the Museo del Palio di Asti and Centro Studi Renato Bordone.
It has two wings, a south-facing garden and north-facing kitchen garden, and has 3 storeys linked by a monumental staircase. The ground floor houses the sala magna whose wood coffered ceiling is decorated with 17th century paintings of the mottos and deeds of the Mazzola family. The wood coffered ceilings of the piano nobile are partly hidden by 19th century vaults.
