Villa Poggio Reale is a historical residence dating to the 16th century built for the Mormorai family of Florence and today owned by the municipality of Rufina (Florence).
The villa features a central building on four floors: the basement holds the kitchen, cellars and a fermentation roomwhich now house the Museum of Vines and Wine; the ground floor has four rooms that open onto a larger reception area; the first floor has seven rooms; and the top floor is an attic.
Outside the central structure, a 19th century family chapel, guest house and orangery complete the property.
The villa is surrounded by a large garden, open to the public, which comprises a wood, known as the Ragnaia, of evergreen plants, with a preponderance of holm oaks, patches of vines and kitchen gardens and a play area for children.
The ground and first floors of the villa are today used for art exhibitions, conventions, ceremonies and events.
