Villa Roberti in Brugine (Padua) is a rural residence of timeless charm, commissioned by the Roberti counts in the mid-16th century and designed by Andrea da Valle.
The villa is known for its beautiful frescoed hall: painted between 1553 and 1554, the series – featuring stories of love between gods and mortals – is one of the best examples of the collaboration between Giambattista Zelotti and Paolo Veronese, making Villa Roberti a most evocative testament to the Paduan and Venetian pictorial Renaissance.
The monumental complex is also unique for its large barchessa and tower, the last testimony of the medieval castle that once stood on the site.
Immersed in a green natural landscape, the villa has preserved part of its estates, and to date, features a 5-hectare park with a Romance-style rose garden, a wood, an ice house, an orchard and a fishpond.
