The little ancient borgo of Cusercoli is located some kilometres before Civitella di Romagna (Forlì-Cesena) on a spur of limestone which apparently gave it the name. The principal thoroughfare, the purtaza, features the ancient entrance gate, surmounted by the crest of the Guidi di Bagno counts, the only way into the village at the time of its construction.
On the peak is the medieval Castle of the Guidi Counts, first documented in the 11th century, with a church and bell tower, a handful of frescoes, a tiny Italian garden, the priest’s residence, sundials and the parish church clock whose ancient mechanism has been repaired.
