Val di Fassa Dolomites

The Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, feature hundreds of square kilometres of walls, towers, spiers and valleys. Emerging from the tropical sea that extended between the current provinces of Trento and Bolzano, countless testimonies of marine life are preserved in their rocks which also feature an unusual alternation of sedimentary and eruptive rocks.
The Val di Fassa lies in the heart of the Dolomites, with enchanting towns such as Alba, Campitello, Canazei, Mazzin, Moena, Penia, Pera, Pozza, Soraga and Vigo, that are popular destinations for holidaymakers, hikers and sports enthusiasts.
Val di Fassa develops along the upper stretch of the Avisio river, from the Marmolada glacier where it originates, to Moena, where it enters Val di Fiemme. It is the only valley in Trentino where the Ladin language is still widely spoken. With over 200 km of slopes for alpine skiing, the valley is one of the capitals of international skiing. Its resorts are part of Dolomiti Superski, the largest and most advanced ski area in the world.
