The pandemic has accelerated the process of heightened environmental awareness which began several years ago and unfolds not only in various aspects of daily life but also in the audiovisual sector with productions increasingly adopting Eco-sustainable practices on set such as the use of local resources, reduction of emissions and recycling.

The Green Film Protocol, created and promoted by the Trentino Film Commission to set a common standard using a shared tool and so encourage environmental sustainability on set, was recently recognised by the Italian Film Commissions. Various productions have already demonstrated awareness of the environment while shooting in Trentino. The latest, Il Divin Codino by Letizia Lamartire, a film for Netflix that follows Roberto Baggio’s two-decade football career, shot in August and September 2020 in Rome, Tivoli, Trento and Florence, following Trentino FC’s Green protocol.

Other award-winning productions include Sanctuary (TV series) and Ride (2018) by Jacopo Rondinelli, Restiamo Amici (2019) by Antonello Grimaldi, Il testimone invisibile (2018) by Stefano Mordini and Menocchio (2018) by Alberto Fasulo (feature films), all shot in Trento.
