One of the small natural lakes that can be found in Molise, Lago del Cervaro is a small, natural basin in a mountain setting characterised by karsic phenomena and surrounded by pasture land on the high plains of Frosolone (IS).
The area includes various places of natural interest, all clustered close together: the beech forest of Monte Marchetta e di Colle dell'Orso at an altitude of 1,000m, an ancient water source immersed in vegetation and the Falesia della Morgia Quadra, well-known in the rock-climbing community for its grey limestone walls full of handholds.
