The Emerald Grotto in Conca dei Marini (SA) is one of the natural treasures of the Amalfi Coast. Located in a bay with white houses and a picturesque port, it can be visited with a small boat. The Grotto gets its name from the colour of the crystalline sea and the picturesque reflections the light makes on the water. The walls of the cave are also spectacular, “inlaid” with stalactites and stalagmites. In 1956, a ceramic nativity scene was placed on the sea floor and flowers are left there for Baby Jesus every Christmas.
