Description

The Call aims to activate support for businesses in the audio-visual industry, aiming to promote the creation of audio-visual products that enable awareness raising of the tourism opportunities in Umbria and the region’s creative and cultural endowments.

The total budget of € 1,500,000 is allocated to audio-visual works in the following categories:

  • Category a): Films, audio-visual series for TV and web, documentaries and animated projects: €1,300,000;
  • Category b): Fictional, live action short films: € 200,000.

The end goal is to increase employment, encourage the exchange and growth of base productivity, attract and sustain investment flows and develop increasingly sophisticated specialisations in the region’s creative audio-visual industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum working days on the territory:
    • Category a): 40% (minimum) shoot days in Umbria (or work days for animated projects), however if the entire shoot schedules more than 50 days, the minimum number required is 20;
    • Category b): at least 70% of all shoot days in Umbria.

Applicants must possess the following requirements:

  • inscription at the Register of Businesses of the Chamber of Commerce of the relevant territory;
  • businesses headquartered outside the Italian territory are required to stipulate coproduction or executive production agreements with a business possessing fiscal residence in Italy which may act as the applicant;
  • work in the “Activity of cinema, video and TV programme production” sector;
  • qualify as independent producers;
  • be the sole or co-producers of the audiovidual work being presented or in possession of a contract for the executive production of the work with the producing company.

Projects in Category a) must have a deal-memo or contract with a broadcaster and/or supplier of audiovisual media services on other devices, of domestic or international level.

When submitting the request, the projects must have minimum funding as follows:

  • Category a) 40% of production cost, excluding general expenses and production fee;
  • Category b) 20% of production cost, excluding general expenses and production fee.

Payment schedule

The beneficiary will receive the total amount within 90 days of the application for grant disbursement.

Notes

The projects must be started after presenting the request and - without fail - within 9 months from receiving notice of the grant awarded.

The grant winning projects must be completed:

  • Category a) 12 months;
  • Category b) 6 months.

An extension of 6 months is possible upon presentation of reasonable motivation.
