A small village located in a hamlet of Tenno on the Trentino side of lake Garda, Canale di Tenno is a rural settlement of medieval origin (documented in 1211) whose structure has survived almost intact to the present day.
The central square is surrounded by stone houses with barrel vaults, while the rest of the village has narrow streets overlooked by old balconies.
The village is a popular destination for artists and tourists, offering fascinating views and charming landscape. Nearby lake Tenno is a small body of water with an island in the centre. Artists who have stayed here include Giacomo Vittone from Turin to whom the Casa degli Artisti (a meeting place and residence hosting exhibitions and cultural events) is dedicated. The museum of agricultural tools also offers valuable testimony to the customs of old.
