Torgiano (PG) is an Umbrian town that originated from a medieval castle. The old town center features the Baglioni Tower, testimony to the ancient fortified walls, and two fountains: the Fonte di Giano and the Fonte dei Cocciari. Torgiano is full of religious buildings, such as the Church of San Bartolomeo, built in the 18th century over an ancient medieval parish church, the Church of Santa Maria del Castello, the Church of Madonna dell'Ulivello and the Oratorio della Misericordia (Oratory of Mercy). The town has two museums, the Museo del Vino, one of the most famous wine museums in Italy, and the Museo dell'Olivo e dell'Olio ("Olive and Oil Museum") located in a small cluster of medieval houses within the castle walls, where documents, engravings, period vessels and other historical objects are stored.
The Church of Madonna del Ponte in Ponterosciano and the Chiesa del Crocifisso e di San Lorenzo in Pontenuovo can be visited nearby.
