The village of Rango in the municipality of Bleggio Superiore (whose name derives from the Celtic word randa which means limit) borders the Pieve del Bleggio and is the last inhabited hamlet before the Durone pass. The spirit of this place has remained unchanged through the centuries.
It looks like a fortified village with its ancient homes nestled against each other, connected by porticoes, entrance halls and internal courtyards, the traditional architecture perfectly preserved.
Access is through a stone staircase which leads to an ancient arch overlooked by a Renaissance mullioned window embellished with a magnificent sundial. The village is a mix of rural buildings, bridges leading to the upper farm buildings, entrance halls (vòlt), a dense system of tunnels, internal courtyards (portec) and covered passages providing shelter from the bad weather.
