Matilda De Angelis and Stefano Accorsi star in a polarizing film about stalking, which opens in the open, windy urban spaces of a grey Trieste and ends in a solitary house in a dark forest.
Stefano Mordini’s film is based on a novel by Marco Franzoso. The book is set in the hills of Romagna, but Mordini chose to move the story to Trieste, framing it within a major city event – the Barcolana (a historic international sailing regatta held annually in the Gulf of Trieste).
City locations include: piazza della Borsa, the harbour visible from the law firm, the Palace of Justice, and, naturally, piazza Unità d'Italia.
"I wanted to take her further north, I wanted that coolness and politeness in relationships that can mask the courage of truth. Trieste is an extraordinary city, very Central European, which projects the story slightly outside of Italy. Light, settings, content, and above all, the wind as a disturbing element, scenic, but also psychological. The Trieste Film Commission works very well, we chose Trieste above all because we felt very comfortable in the city" explains the director.

Having successfully defended a charismatic university professor against charges of sexual assault, a brilliant young lawyer from Trieste is then asked to file a lawsuit against the university: despite the professor’s reinstatement, he has been relegated to a marginal role. At the same time, her past is coming back to haunt her: strange signals, elusive presences and a sense of constant threat spark the suspicion that her violent ex, previously sentenced for stalking her, has resumed his pursuit. As the line between reality and imagination becomes increasingly blurred, Elisabetta resolves to uncover the truth, amidst a crescendo of tension where she finds herself alone, questioning everything she thought she knew.
