The 20 stories tap into the geographic and historical context of Sesto San Giovanni and the city of Milan. Of notable importance are certain specific events (like the Massacre of Piazzale Loreto, the Massacre of Gorla, and Mussolini’s last visit to Milan) and other ethical and social issues (the anti-fascist strikes that took place in the big factories of Sesto San Giovanni during the war). In one of the stories, a citizen finds themselves facing a dilemma: do they report or continue to hide a deserter? In another story, a small child secretly listens to Radio London, failing to understand the significance of the coded messages being broadcast.

Visual novel
Venti Mesi is a collection of interactive stories on the Resistance and the Liberation from Nazi-Fascism. The official website for the game describes it as “20 fateful months (from September 1943 to April 1945), 20 stories inspired by events that actually took place in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) and the surrounding area during the Second World War, 20 different points of view on the history of democracy in our country”. The video game was made with contributions from Coop Lombardia as part of the City of Sesto San Giovanni’s project ‘Today, 25 April 1945’.
