Where it was filmed 'Cado dalle nubi'

Checco lives in Polignano a Mare (BA) where he works as a singer in a piano bar on weekends. The film gives us various glimpses of the historical centre of the town, in the province of Bari, where Checco lives and of the coastline, with its terrace on the cliffs overlooking the sea where Angela tells him that she is leaving him. Checco falls into deep depression for a time, during a lonely walk he ends up on the beach of Polignano, San Vito.

To alleviate his depression in the hopes of rebuilding his life, Checco decides to go to Milan where he meets Marika who is a volunteer at the Abbey of Morimondo. To impress her, Checco agrees to teach guitar to a group of misfit kids who spend time at the church. His lessons take place in the abbey cloister. In Milan, Checco frequents different bars and hang-outs, although these are not always truly located in the Lombard capital: in the film, e.g. Latte Più is a gay disco while the real location is a cocktail bar on Via Appia in Rome.

The wedding scenes were shot in Savelletri, a hamlet in the municipality of Fasano (BR), at the Masseria Torre Coccaro. The shoreline of Savelletri also provides the backdrop for the scene when Checco consoles his uncle over his imagined disappointment.
