Vincenzo and Paolo meet by chance in a bar, and recognise one another’s pain, that of men who have been dumped by their respective partners. They strike up a friendship, sealed by a beer under one of the lions of Piazza dei Martiri in Naples and promise to see each other again. In the days that follow, the two men spur each other on and give one another advice, for example when Paolo sees his former partner Federica jogging with another man, as the two men sit on the pontoon of Castel dell’Ovo. They put into motion a plan to exchange ex-girlfriends and make them fall in love with them. Paolo starts seeing Sara, a vegan and health-conscious beautician, while Vincenzo hires an actor to show off his wealth to Federica, who is attracted to wealthy men, with the excuse of having to furnish his huge home, Villa Marechiaro in Posillipo.

But then Paolo falls in love with Sara and doesn’t have the courage to tell Vincenzo. The inevitable discovery of the deceit takes place during a dinner in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore.
